If your emphasis is on affordability, the 2019 Nissan Frontier thrifty four-cylinder powertrain is a good choice. It is friendly to your budget, but it can do the work you need. Tow ratings top out at 3,800 pounds. Shoppers may step up to the powerful V6. It can tow up to 6,690 pounds. Power outlay is rated at 261 horsepower and 281 lb.-ft. of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard with four-wheel drive optional on most models. Beds come in two sizes: 73.3-inch (long) or 59.5-inch (standard). For better hauling, Nissan has a spray-on bedliner and a UtiliTrack system with adjustable tie-downs. A trailer hitch and bed extender are also on the Frontier menu. If you want more adventure in your life, you can go for the 2019 Frontier Desert Runner or Pro-4X editions. These trucks wear Bilstein shocks and all-terrain tires. A lifted suspension gives them more ground clearance. In addition to four-wheel drive, a locking rear differential lets the Pro-4X go further afield.

Instead of a two-seat regular cab, you can get a King Cab with two front and two rear seats. It's easy to climb inside with the rear-hinged rear doors. Sturdy workhouse models offer practical ways to travel with some amenities to keep you comfortable. Buyers may choose to delete the King Cab's rear seats in favor of a cargo hold. The crew cabs seat five in a more SUV-styled cabin. Higher trims add enough amenities to make you forget you are riding in a truck. If the Frontier functions as the family's second car, everyone will have a comfortable perch, and car seats will have LATCH attachments to keep them in place.

Drivers can stream audio via a NissanConnect display screen or a touch screen with NissanConnect Apps. This user-friendly system allows you to find entertainment to brighten your work day. A rearview camera broadcasts to the screen, giving you more security during reverse maneuvers.

Frontier comes with a full contingent of airbags, covering both rows of two-row cabins. The truck's sturdy construction works to keep out impact and to protect passengers from crashforce. Electronic systems regulate brake distribution and throttle levels to achieve stability and traction.
